Hello there and welcome to the website for The Utica Amateur Radio Club!

        RADIOCOM 2009 JULY 18th HERKIMER COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS

We have been here for 75 years and will be here another 75 years with you.

Our next meeting is THURSDAY!! June 11th!! at CEDARBROOK, A sitrin facility located at  101 Sitrin Road in New Hartford. This road intersects with Higby Road approximately 2.9 miles up. We are meeting on the 1st floor. There is plenty of parking. The meeting starts at 7 pm. We hope to see you at our new meeting location.  This is our last meeting until September. We need help at two events coming up. The Boilermaker road race and our hamfest.

 Our program will be "DXing with moderate power levels" given by Fred W2VUF!

There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 prior to the meeting. This is open to all members as well. We are looking for assistance for Field Days, which is June 27-28 located in Kirkland town park.

CEDARBROOK  <---------------- OUR NEW MEETING LOCATION!!!!!

Sitrin road is a newly dedicated road that is not on Mapquest yet. It forms four corners where Mohawk St, Sitrin Rd and Higby Rd intersect. Sitrin Rd doesn't have a sign on it yet but that is coming soon. This intersection is between two other intersections. Above is the Tilden Ave intersection and before Sitrin is the Higby Hills Drive intersection. If you have trouble finding our meeting, give us a call up on our repeater on our meeting night, which is now back to the 2nd Thursday of the month.

We meet on the 2nd Thrsday evening of the month. Meetings are not held during the months of July and August. Starts at 7:00 p.m. Bring a friend along as well. We are at the Sitrin Cedarbrook independant living center.

MISSION



We, the undersigned, wishing to secure for ourselves the pleasures and benefits of an association of persons commonly interested in Amateur Radio, constitute ourselves the “Utica Amateur Radio Club”, hereafter referred to as “The Club” and “UARC”.



We, the members, enact this constitution as our governing law and it shall be our purpose to:


  1. Support and promote educational projects of any benevolent, charitable, educational, or missionary undertaking as it pertains to Amateur Radio.

  2. Act as a unified group to furnish communication services for Emergency Management, any state, county, or city law enforcement agency, or charitable organization during times of emergency, distress, national disaster, or in the public interest.

  3. Provide for instruction in the fundamentals of electronics and its allied arts, including Morse code.

  4. Provide open meetings for lectures and discussions of scientific developments in the radio communications and electronics arts.

  5. Enhance our individual and collective knowledge of radio communications and its allied arts and sciences.

  6. Encourage cooperative fellowship among radio amateurs.

  7. Raise public awareness and promote interest in Amateur Radio.
